Speed controllers for generator sets

The cruise control, also known as governor or speed controller, is the electronic component that keeps the generator set's engine RPM constant despite load variations. Its function is to continuously adjust the signal sent to the actuator that controls fuel intake: when the load increases and the engine tends to lose speed, the governor compensates by increasing the fuel supply; when the load decreases, it reduces it. Without a properly calibrated speed governor, the generator’s output frequency varies with the load, which can damage connected equipment.

At Sorilux, we carry original speed controllers and actuators from leading brands, as well as compatible alternatives for the most common models in the industry. Express shipping within 24–48 hours.

Original regulators and actuators

  • GAC (Governor America Corp): a leading American brand in speed controllers for generator sets. ESD series controllers (ESD-2402, ESD-5111, ESD-5131, ESD-5500E, ESD-5550) and linear actuators (ADD-225S, ADC-100, ACE-275HD). MSP 6728-C speed sensor.
  • Doosan: DSC-1000 controller and 300701-00133 actuator for generator sets with Doosan engines.

Compatible equivalents

  • Sorilux Series: Equivalent regulators compatible with the GAC ESD-5111, ESD-5120, and ESD-5500 models, and for Cummins engines (part numbers 3037359 and 3044196). The C2002 regulator is also available in 12V and 24V versions as a generic alternative.

When does the cruise control fail?

The most common symptoms of a faulty or improperly adjusted controller are: speed hunting, frequency instability under load, sudden surges, or the motor failing to maintain RPM when loads are connected. In many cases, the problem is related to PID tuning rather than a controller malfunction. If you have any questions before purchasing, contact us at.
