TPS 2000 W Hotstart Heating Element: Thermosiphon Engine Preheater
The Hotstart TPS preheater is a lightweight, easy-to-install thermosiphon coolant heating system designed for diesel and gasoline engines in generator sets, heavy-duty mobile equipment, and marine and industrial applications. This model is the 2 kW version, available only in 240V single-phase within the TPS line.
Thermosiphon circulation causes the heated coolant to rise naturally through the engine block, without the need for a pump, maintaining the coolant temperature and facilitating cold starts. It features a built-in fixed thermostat that activates heating between 38°C and 49°C (100° to 120°F), and an Incoloy 800 heating element.
It is designed for engines with a displacement of up to 12 liters. The tank, made of PPS (polyphenylene sulfide), has a capacity of 0.42 liters and withstands a maximum pressure of 620 kPa (90 psi), with 16-mm inlet and outlet connections. It is UL-c/US certified and complies with CE regulations.
Technical characteristics
Is it compatible with my engine?
The TPS is designed for engines with a displacement of up to 12 liters. Since it is a thermosiphon preheater, it does not require an external pump, but the engine must allow for natural coolant circulation. If you have any questions about whether this power rating and model are suitable for your generator set, contact us at based on the engine's displacement and coolant volume.
