Mecc Alte uCharge MAS 0612R Battery Charger: Multi-stage charging with fault alarm
The uCharge MAS 0612R is an automatic battery charger from Mecc Alte, designed for battery maintenance in standby and prime power generator sets, as well as in marine, automotive, and industrial control system applications. It is compatible with and can replace the ComAp InteliCharger 60 12-AF charger.
It uses high-efficiency switching technology (up to 90%) and microprocessor control, with an intelligent multi-stage charging feature designed to allow it to remain permanently connected to the battery, keeping it charged without overcharging it. The float voltage is factory-set to 13.8V, with a fast-charge (boost) stage set to 4% above that voltage. It supports a universal input range of 90 to 264 VAC, 47–63 Hz.
It is protected against overload (constant current limiting with foldback), overtemperature (output shutdown with automatic recovery), overvoltage (instantaneous shutdown at 16.0 V), and battery reverse polarity. It also monitors for mains power failure, loss of output voltage control, high or low battery voltage, and battery disconnection. The R version, like this one, includes a voltage-free fault alarm relay that de-energizes 60 seconds after detecting a fault (instantly in the event of overvoltage), allowing the charger’s status to be monitored remotely.
